Suzanne Sigafoos

Eclipse

Bedrooms
radiant with cursive -

Every woman
has her reasons

each man
his innocence.

The heart works
just as hard at night

doubletime
for honeymoons
birthdays
nightmares.

Stars align,
a diary left on a train
slides from the seat
to the floor.

Elegant, Mysterious, Well-Crafted
This is lovely. It is like overhearing snatches of a whispered conversation on a train. The reader strains to listen, wants to know more. The rhythm is restrained and skillfully executed, as is the subtle repetition of roundness in the imagery.
